HANSEL

Medical students and doctors

by day. Glam rockers

by night.

At least, that is the case for

three-fifths of Newcastle rock

outfi t Hansel.

Singer Damian Mansour is

doing his medical internship, his

brother Gene has just finished his, and

bassist Tim Dickson is already a surgeon.

Add guitarists Adam Burgess and Andrew

Mitchell, and they are Hansel.

The band will launch its debut EP Mission to Rock tomorrow night at

King Street Hotel.

Hansel worked on the EP with ARIA Award-winning producer Anton

Hagop, who has recorded Silverchair, Powderfinger, Missy Higgins and

Midnight Oil.

They hope to take their show to the US next September for a threemonth

tour.

Hansel, which takes its name from Owen Wilsons character in the

film Zoolander, has already attracted the attention of radio stations and

music video program Rage with the singles Rock City and Murder 101.

Hansel launches its debut EP at King Street Hotel tomorrow night from

7.30. Entry is $5 at the door, or $10 with a copy of Mission To Rock.
