QUIFF up and frock out, residents were told at yesterday's preview to Rockers and Revhead nights, one of Live Sites most popular events of the year, which will be held every Friday night this month at Wheeler Place.

Rock'n'roll dancers and 1960s car enthusiasts gathered to show off their moves and their wares ahead of the Friday night events that will incorporate rockabilly bands, dance lessons and classic cars, revving up fans of a bygone era.

This Friday night the Californian Cruisers car club will be showing off its Cadillacs, and there will be live music by At The Hop and DJ Dave Grevill, with free rock'n'roll dance lessons.

On other nights there will be rockabilly, swing and Lindy hop dance lessons.

"Basically people can come along and bring a picnic or have something to eat and listen to free music, and have a dance if they feel like it," Live Sites media and marketing manager Louise Gleeson said.

The Rockers and Revheads event is in its fourth year.
